The biggest challenges for MTV in the 1980's were the very popular rock and metal bands, as well as some pop artists, that were considered by big portion of the population as satanist, morally destructive, and controversial, but MTV was trying to promote them. Some of them were Metallica (metal band), Alice Cooper (rock artist), and Madonna (pop artist).
