How did the practice of having farmers destroy their surplus crops impact our economy during the great depression?

Got rid of the surplus in crops in line with demand.

The government paid farmers to get rid of surplus crops. By doing this prices were set to be affordable for sale and also provide money for farmers to pay their debts.
