Remark

Solve for y first

Then solve for x.

Solution

All triangles have 180 degrees. There is not one that doesn't.

You know about 2 of the three angles so add them

y + 90 + 34 = 180

y + 124 = 180 Subtract 124 from both sides

y = 180 - 124

y = 56 <<<<< answer

All straight lines have 180 degrees when measured around a point.

x + y = 180

x + 56 = 180

x = 180 - 56

x = 124 <<<<< Answer
