a  quadrilateral is a shape that has four equal sides.
For example:square,rectangle.(basically these are the ones i can think of)
parallelograms are also quadrilaterals.parallelograms is a quadrilateral with 2 pairs of parallel sides.
a square cant be in the hierarchy under traoezoids and rectangles,rombuhs.
