They were different because puritans  called for total separation from the church, a dangerous belief in England. They believed that they were the only ones right and had strict religious practices. Puritans were separatists who advocated total withdrawal from the Church of England and wanted the freedom to worship independently from English authority. While on the other hand, the Quakers were at peace and had loose religious practices and believed in equality.

Hope this helps!!!!
