jamal wants to find the sum of 6/10 and 17/100. he says the sum is twenty-three hundredths. what is his mistake

He should make the denominators ( by finding the LCD)  the same before adding.  LCD of 10 and 100 = 100  so

6/10 = 60 /100

and  60/100 + 17/100

= 77/100 is the correct answer
