add 5 to -5 and 7.

That narrows it down to 2x =12

then you divide 2 to 2x and 12

Then its x = 6

so X = 6 !!!!!!

2x-5=7
1. 2x-5+5=7+5
2. 2x=12
3. 2x÷2=12÷2
4. x=6
answer is x=6
