What was the general approach of the British in fighting the American Revolution?

I mean the British had a great advantages... The amount of money they had, a professional army, the navy, allies with the German mercenary and others I can imagine they'd be confident.. It seemed as if they would win and America would lose cause well they didn't have the advantage.. (idk if this if that answers the question)
