there would be 4 atoms because the 16 at the beginning is only for the Na

In [tex]NaCl[/tex] there are 2 atoms, one of sodium, and one of chlorine. If we multiply it by 4, we'll have 8 atoms in total, 4 of soduim and 4 of chlorine.
