Recall "Order of Operations" rules, or PEMDAS.

We must do any work first that is enclosed in parentheses (such as your (5-6), followed by any exponentiation, followed by multiplication/division, followed by addition/subtraction.

2^5(5-6)+9/3 becomes 2^5(-1)+9/3.  We must now raise 2 to the 5th power:

32(-1)+9/3

and then carry out the mult. and div.:  -32 + 3

Finally, we combine -32 and +3, obtaining 29 (answer)
