I pictured it as a graph and since the slope is negative, the line goes down and to the right. Since the slope is -1/2, for every 2 you move horizontally, you move one vertically. You have to move two up and unless the y intercept is 0, when the line intercepts y, you have 0 as x. You move two up and 4 backwards so the x intercept is -4
