An infinitive is using the word ‘to’ with an action verb. Examples: to walk, to shop, to study. Prepositional phrases must start with a preposition and are used to add information to a sentence about location, time, description, or a direct/indirect object. For example, after supper, before lunch, with my friend, for the doctor, to the store.
