It was the decade of white women were allowed to vote. It was also the decade where the textile business expanded which increased more jobs and progress. There also native North Carolinians who contributed to the progress such as Spencer Love who opened a rayon mill which eventually grew as Burlington Mills and Bernard Cone who studied the scientific management and preservation of profits of the textile mills.
