To solve this problem we will apply the concepts of conversion. We will simply carry the value of pounds to kilograms, so from the statement we have the equivalent:

[tex]1lb = 0.453592kg[/tex]

Now if 1 lb is equivalent to that value, 12.5 lb would be

[tex]m = 12.5lb (\frac{0.453592kg }{1lb}) \rightarrow[/tex]Note that the values are available in this order and the units are also canceled and the kilograms are maintained.

[tex]m = 5.61kg[/tex]

[tex]\therefore 12.5 ft \text{ is equal to } 5.61kg[/tex]
