Hello,

Usually, in a sentence, a comma is placed after a coordinating conjunction,

in a dependent clause that starts with a sentence (i.e., introductory phrase...), in appositives to offset them from the sentence,

to separate items in a sentence, after introductory adverbs, and attributing quotes.

There are lots of uses and places for where a comma should go. I used business insiders' "The most important rules for usage of commas," if you want more examples.
