Solve: 1+2x-7 = 3x+5-3x

1 + 2x - 7 = 3x + 5 - 3x

Combine like terms

2x - 6 = 5

Isolate the x value on one side of the equation

2x = 11

Divide both sides by the number in front of the x

x = 11/2 or 5.5
