"2.5 mL" of the suspension are required.

Liquid suspension:

According to the question,

  • Ampicillin = 0.125 g

                         = [tex]0.125\times 1000[/tex]

                         = [tex]125 \ mg[/tex]

  • Liquid suspension on hand = 250 mg/5.0 ml

Now,

125 mg present in (Suspension required):

= [tex](\frac{5.0}{250}\times 125 )[/tex]

= [tex]2.5 \ mL[/tex]

Thus the above approach is correct.
