No, The 8 in the ones place of the decimal and the 8 in the thousands. Decimals go by variables of 10 if that makes sense

so hopping from the 8 in the ones place it would go 10, 100,1000.

Therefore the statement is false because the value between the eitghts is not 100 its 1000
