Personally, I think that a person is inclined to do some sort of action when in pride or fear. In a situation where someone pride is hurt or at stake, they will most likely take verbal action to defend their pride. In a situation where a person is in fear, they may act like they are not scared, show their fear, run away, cry etc. It all depends on the situation and the individual themselves.
