What is the slope of the line represented by the equation y = – – 5x?

Is the 5x negative? If it is the slope is -5

If you are cancelling out the two negatives, then the slope is 5, BUT if that was just a typo and you meant y = -5x, then the slope is -5. The slope in every equation is always the coefficient.
