Americans were tired of reform, tired of witch hunts, and were more than ready for a return to “normalcy.” ... government—almost a return to the laissez-faire economic policy of the Gilded Age of the late 19th century.
it allowed the people to have freedom and inspire them to take control of their own affairs and it did not include much involvement from behalf of the government, which surprisingly pleased the people
