A student solved the equation 6s – 10 = 2 + 3s + s and got s = –4. His work shown below is his check for this problem. Which statement best applies to the work shown?

6s - 10= 2 + 3s + s
6s - 10= 2 + 4s
6s - 4s= 2 + 10
2s= 12
divide both sides by 2
s= 6
so his answer is wrong
