Japanese people grow miniature trees called "bonsai". Bonsai trees are considered as art by Japanese people as it is symbolic of harmony and  "balance in nature." As Bonsai trees require a lot of skill to grow and can live up to 100 years, Japanese people who grow bonsai trees see it as an art because of the level of patience, sympathy, and calmness needed for a bonsai tree to flourish. Bonsai tree is an important and highly recognized aspect of Japanese culture!
