why do we have to multiply the atomic mass of the oxygen to get 32?

Oxygen in its molecular form exists as
O3. The atomic mass of oxygen atom = 16 g/mol. The molar mass of O2
= 2 x 16 = 32 g/mol
It means, 1 mole of the Oxygen will have mass = 32 grams
