If sqrt(x^2 + 2) = x + sqrt(2) then why does sqrt(sqrt(2)^2 + 2) = 4 but sqrt(2) + sqrt(2) = 2.83? aren't they equal though? i checked with a calculator that said they are. am i confused or is the calculator somehow wrong or what?
