Dr. Benjamin Spock was the author of the book entitled "The Common Sense Book of Baby and Child Care". The book was first published in 1946. Over 50 million copies of the book were sold and it had been translated to 39 languages. In late 1960's he received several criticisms for condoning a parenting style that is very permissive.
