what is the solution to the equation 1/40x = 1/8

First, I would multiply both sides by 8 to get:
1/5x = 1

Now multiply both sides by 5x

1 = 5x

Now divide by 5

X = 1/5

1/40x=1/8
x=1/8 / 1/40
x= 1/8 * 40/1
x=5
