Bangladesh, a former Pakistani territory, has its name derived from Hindi which basically means "Land of Bengal." The Bangladesh movement against the Pakistanis began during the 1970's and through the support of India, they launched an offensive towards its Pakistani border leading to its independence from Pakistan.
