Simplify -8+6(x-2)+5 to 6(x-2)-3
6(x-2)-3=9

Add the 3 to both sides
6(x-2)=9+3

Simplify 9+3 to 12
6(x-2)=12

Divide both sides by 6
x-2=12/6

Simplify 12/6 to 2
x-2=2

Add 2 to both sides
x=2+2

Simplify 2+2 to 4
x=4

I hope that is what you were asking for. :D
