we know that 8/5 is an improper number and is more than one.

First we know 5/5 = 1 so we take 5/5 from 8/5 8-5 = 3/5
and we have 1

since 3/5 is in simplest form that means we have 1 3/5 is 8/5 in lowest term

The lowest term for 8/5 is 1 3/5
