Why were women and children forced to work during the Industrial Revolution?

They were forced to work during the industrial revolution because they were seen as being beneficial aspects to a company.. It was much better to hire kids and women in contrast to men because employers were able to save money,  men were more costly to employ so this is why it occurred.
