For many countries the end of communism was look at positively such as in Germany. Although in some Eastern Europeans countries the swift change from communism to capitalism negatively effected the economy. Also Ethnic tensions were higher without the Soviet Unions intervention. Yugoslavia is an example of a country negatively affected by communism, it broke apart because of war that broke out due to ethnic divides.
