A first number plus twice a second number is 2. Twice the first number plus the second totals 22. Find the numbers.

Your numbers are 10 and -4.

-2x -4y= -4
2x + y = 16
0x - 3y = 12
-3y = 12
y = -4

x+ 2y = 2
x + 2 ( -4) = 2
x- 8= 2
x= 10
