The views are of course different, with more support in Russia, and little support in the Western World. Essentially, this move was not conducted through legal means, and as such it cannot be supported. There is however the fact that the majority of Crimeans is ethnically Russian and would perhaps support the transition if it was done in a more peaceful manner.
