The "Fall Line" runs from east to west through the center of the state, approximately. The two cities that would most be on the opposite sides of this line would be Atlanta (in the north) and Savannah (in the southeast). By heading south from Atlanta, one would cross the Fall Line, where the rivers all tend to converge.
