The settlers wanted to adopt the same system of slavery in from France. France is one the colonizers who have introduced slavery into their colonies in order to mass produce products like tobacco, wheat and more. France was forced to sell Louisiana on the eve of the revolt of Saint Domingue, one of their colonies in the Caribbean Islands.
