Aerobic respiration happens in the mitochondria. It requires glucose and oxygen and produces energy water and carbon dioxide. Anaerobic respiration also uses glucose and produces energy, however, it produces less energy and does not require oxygen. It takes place in the cell cytoplasm and produces lactic acid.
