imagine you live only one mile from work and you decide to walk. If you walk four miles per hour, how long will it take you to walk one mile?

It would take you 15 minutes. Since one hour equals 60 minutes your equation would look like this:
4x=60
So you need divide 4 into both sides in order to find the value of x which represents one mile. 
So one mile takes 15 minutes to walk or  x=15.
