Answer: The value of x in quadrilateral ABCD is 9 cm.

Since both pairs of sides are parallel, this shape is also a parallelogram. The area of a parallelogram is base times height.

Therefore in this parallelogram, we can write and solve the following equation.

A = B x H
63 = 7x
9 = x

The height must be 9 cm.
