When humans first inhabited the area 12,000 years ago, Enchanted Rock was seen as a strange structure from a supernatural world.
It creaked, it groaned and it flickered with supposed
“ghost fires,” which was enough to make native tribes think the
now-beloved dome was haunted and inhabited by the devil himself,
