Suppose that the mean score of a class of 32 students was 74. the 19 male students in the class had a mean score of 70. what was the mean score for the 13 female students?

mean = sum of values / number of values
74 = x/32
2368 = x

70 = y/19
1330 = y

mean for female students = (2368 - 1330)/(32-19) = 79.85
