So for this we will be doing proportions. And in this case the proportions will be [tex] \frac{5}{4x} =\frac{3}{2x+2} [/tex]

Firstly, cross multiply: [tex] 10x+10=12x [/tex]

Next, subtract 10x on each side of the equation: [tex] 10=2x [/tex]

Lastly, divide 2 on each side of the equation, and your answer should be 5 = x

Next, to find BD, just multiply 5 and 4 together, which equal 20.

To find CE, plug in 5 into the x variable of 2x+2.

[tex] 2(5)+2\\ 10+2\\ 12 [/tex]

In short, the correct answer is the first option.
