"Skew" means NOT parallel, perpendicular, or intersecting.
One possible problem that you may be having with this thing
is that there appear to be choices missing. AC is perpendicular
to AE, and CG is parallel to it, so neither of the choices we see
is skew to it.
There are four segments in the drawing that are skew to AE.
They are BD, FH, CD, and GH .
