We know that when we take the absolute value of something, we are essentially taking the integer and making it a positive number regardless of the sign - basically to show magnitude more than anything.

Therefore, if it doesn't matter what the sign (positive or negative) is, then we can safely say that in this case, x is C) -4 or 4.
