Burning pain is usually indicative of nerve involvement... what is causing that nerve pain can be a number of things. I would initially suspect the pain is coming from the back at the level of the spine L3 as this follows the L3 dermatome. The nerve can become irritated at the source where it leaves the spinal cord which will cause your radiating pain.
