Well you see, cities were separated by categories such as class, race, & ethnicity. Such as, if someone wanted an all white city, they would remove all of the different raced people just to make this happen. Now in these days, they cannot do that unless that person is illegally here. Stratified means arrange or classify. People were arranged as if they were objects, sadly.
