420 miles divided by 2 hours is 210 miles in one hour, or 210mph, that is the speed of the jet.

So in 14 hours, or 210(14) the jet could fly 2,940 miles.

In 14 hours, the jet will have traveled 2540 miles.

1) first, make a equation to be able to solve; 420/2 = x/14

2) next, you have to figure out what times 2 equals 14. here, it is 7. after that, you multiply 7 by 2 (which is 14) and do the same to the top of the fraction (240 times 7)

3) after you multiply it you get 240/2 = 2540/14

hope this helps !!
