Midpoint formula: [tex](\frac{x1 + x2}{2}, \frac{y1+ y2}{2})[/tex]

Substitute (-3, -6) for (x1, y1) and (-6, 8) for (x2, y2)

Midpoints of the segment with endpoints (-3,-6) and (-6,8):

[tex](\frac{-3 - 6}{2},  \frac{-6 + 8}{2})[/tex] = [tex](-\frac{9}{2}, \frac{2}{2})[/tex] = [tex](-\frac{9}{2}, 1)[/tex]

Midpoints = [tex](-\frac{9}{2}, 1)[/tex]
