Work out the equation of the line which has a gradient of -2 and passes through the point (1,7)

point slope form of a line

y-y1 = m(x-x1)

y-7 = -2 (x-1)

if you want it in slope intercept form

y-7 = -2x +2

add 7 to each side

y = -2x +9
