BR is parallel to QC, therefore the segments are in proportion.

We have the equation:

[tex]\dfrac{x}{39}=\dfrac{18}{26}[/tex]          cross multiply

[tex]26x=(39)(18)[/tex]        divide both sides by 26

[tex]x=27[/tex]

Answer: x = 27 units
